Patients for whom Excimer Laser is Not Suitable
- Under the age of 18 and over the age of 65 (In general, excimer laser treatment is not preferred in patients over the age of 65 because they have both near and far refractive errors or cataract onset, refractive errors are corrected with cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantations)
- Number increments in progress,
- Keratoconus disease or suspected keratoconus: Keratoconus is an eye disease characterized by thinning, tapering and bulging of the cornea, which affects the transparent layer of the eye called the cornea. Keratoconus is a progressive disease. Laser treatment is not performed in these patients. ( See diseases keratoconus )
- Presence of advanced dry eye,
- Sjögren's syndrome,
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Collagen tissue diseases,
- Vasculitis
- Steven Johnson Syndrome,
- Pemphigus,
- Lagoftalmus,
- Presence of eye diseases such as cataract, uveitis, herpetic keratitis, glaucoma, retinal diseases
- Those with severe psychiatric disorders, schizophrenia, mental retardation etc.
- Pregnancy, lactation periods,
- Laser treatment is not applied in the presence of wound healing abnormalities such as keloid formation.
