Intralasic Laser Advantages
Intralasic (bladeless laser), which is applied in the treatment of refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism, is among the most widely applied methods today.
With Intralasik, the incision process is completely computer-controlled, with the surgeon watching the eye on the computer screen second by second. In this way, the rate of complications in the patient is minimized. Stating that the Intralasic method is the safest method in excimer laser treatment today, Op. Dr. Sibel Şalvarlı, one of the doctors of Dünyagöz Hospital Ankara branch, reminded that patients should definitely question whether the Intralasic method will be applied when deciding on the laser. Op.Dr. Şalvarlı said that excimer laser is still the most commonly used surgical method in the treatment of refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism all over the world and in our country. Op. Dr. Şalvarlı also noted that there are two separate methods in which a thin layer called flap is removed from the cornea and laser is applied to the intermediate layer.
